Privacy Policy

Your privacy is at the core of how BibleShield works.

Overview

BibleShield (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. In short: BibleShield does not read, record, or transmit the content of your screen or anything you type.

What the app does not do

  • It does not read or capture your screen content.
  • It does not record keystrokes or anything you type.
  • It does not track your activity inside other apps.
  • It does not require an account or collect personal identifiers.
  • It does not serve advertising or sell your data.

Permissions and how they are used

BibleShield requests two Android permissions. Both are used solely to detect which app is currently open:

  • Usage Access — used to measure your reading consistency and streaks. It does not read the content of what you do in other apps.
  • Accessibility Service — used to instantly detect when a blocked app opens, so the reading gate can appear right away. It does not read, record, or transmit what’s on your screen.

You can revoke either permission at any time in your Android settings.

Information stored on your device

BibleShield stores your preferences and activity locally on your device using a local database. This includes:

  • Your list of blocked apps and settings.
  • Reading streaks, sessions, and progress.
  • Verses you’ve saved as Spiritual Shields.
  • Reading plans and reflections.

This data stays on your device unless you choose to back it up through your device’s own backup mechanisms.

Scripture source

All scripture in BibleShield is bundled on your device in public-domain translations (KJV and ASV). There is no network source or third-party API for Bible text — reading works fully offline, and no scripture requests leave your device.

Payments

In-app purchases (such as skipping a session) are processed by Google Play Billing. BibleShield does not see or store your payment details — transactions are handled entirely by Google.

Children’s privacy

BibleShield does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It does not require an account and does not collect personal identifiers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
